Here is the old story rises back to the surface. Perhaps we all can learn better with this case. I follow the story from here and here. Let these pictures tell the story first..

Picture 1, as you can see, tells us that the information obtained from @welovehonda, we should replace the tire every 3000 – 5000 km (equal to 4 months…*oh..really???*). While picture 2, it says that “it is better if we replace the engine oil every 1000 km..”. This….off course…lead to a controversy. Especially for the reader who has experience and knowledge about motorcycle and its engine.

The first one replied that it’ll lead to inefficiency of tire, because if every 4000km (or 4 months) we have to replace our tire it is such as wasting our money. Why? Off course….with 4000 km of your ride…are you sure that your tire was not proper any more?? From what thery you depend on?? You have to check the tire wear indicator (TWI) also instead of only km when you desire to replace your tire. And guess…what happened to the person who critics this information…they blocked his account! WHAT A SHAME!!

Then the second replied for the oil replacement, it also said that “..it is more inefficient for the motorcycle nowadays, isn’t it? “. As you know, the oil replacement was mentioned in the owner manual. I believe that number of 1000 did not come from there. Usually the number is about 2500 to 3000 km, so how can the administrator (or whoever wrote tweet on that site) got this rule?

At least, if you want to write any information about the rule or procedure, give your costumer the reason, the source, and don’t just blocked someone account like that. I won’t judge that ” the person” who has responsibility on that site wasn’t capable but he/she needs more lesson on creating better relationship with the customer.

…is it another “mistyped” or “know no technical things at all” sitting behind the desk??….

CBR 150 R launched with 33 million..

New CBR 150 R

On thursday (30/6), the new CBR 150 R finally launched in Indonesia. This bike is imported on completely build-up (CBU). There are no complaint about the performance of this bike but some “pros & contras” about the design. Its all about someone tastes indeed. But if I have to spent 30 million up to buy this machine, I think it is not a good choice. Just as AHM did in the past…sorry to say…it still too much “price” I have to deal with (….instead of “overprice”??). Though the main reason is the CBU condition, the price is “too high”. And there is only a little chance to get under 30 million for this bike though it assembled in Indonesia.

CBR250R finally launched in Indonesia..

Today, the CBR250R launched officially in Indonesia. It comes with two option, standard and ABS, with three colours Candy Ruby Red, Simple Sword Metallic,and Asteroid Black Metallic. PT. Astra Honda Motor, Indonesian principal for Honda, give special prize for those two variant. The standard version cost 39,9 million while the ABS version cost 46,5 million, both in IDR. With these competitive prices, Honda try to create price war to Ninja 250 which is dominating the 250cc market in Indonesia. The ninja it self cost 46,5 million, same as the ABS version of CBR250R. Thus, with better after sales service and brand image, Honda want to achieve 10.000 sale this year. Further information can be found here (in Bahasa).

NSF250R,from 2stroke to 4stroke

The new moto3 machine from Honda has been revealed. The name was NSF250R, replacing the its name before, NRS250. The bike, as stated from HRC, was aimed for a high-performance, lightweight, and compact racing machine. Thus allowing the RS125R user to get the same feeling that RS125R provide before.

Here is the NSF250R image, compared with the last version of RS125R.

Where is indonesian racer???

Being the biggest contributor for motorcycle market did not make Indonesia as target for professional racer development. After controversial story of Doni Tata in GP racing, Indonesia now doesn’t have any racer on all GP class. The Doni project it self in my perspective is just for advertising and penetrate the market. Are there no good racer from Indonesia?? I doubted that….

This is very different story to tell if we look at Thailand or Malaysia. Thailand still support Willairot in Moto2 class whereas Malaysia support Zulfahmi in his GP125 second year career.

Indonesia?? You will only see a slogan, Satu Hati otherwise SEMAKIN DI DEPAN, both the same…only for advertisement. It’s a shame that all effort on GP racing is just for advertising, then if you buy either moped or sportbike you will only be notified that ” it is the winning machine on GP!!”

….i just hope there will no SEMAKIN PASRAH in GP racing………..

Design…it is up to motorcycle manufacturer to sketch it, hope their design be the most beautiful one. Some bikes got nice art work on first launch, and then they got re-design based on their market location. But if it slightly differs with the original design, and “perhaps” beyond customer expectation….what will you say??

What is GP machine most wanted ever??

MotoGP bike will always give fantasy to us about the feeling it gave when we ride it on track. Crash.net creates simple survey to see what is the “most wanted” GP bike on people mind. They give all bike, from first era of 4 stroke Grand Prix racing to the present day. The bike ranging from 990cc to 800cc from all manufacturer. Here is the result I captured last few days :

What we can conclude is that the old 990cc machine attracts people more than the 800cc. From the result we get the top three of the choices still dominates by the 990cc machine. Perhaps the “mighty” power that can be pulled out from the crank on that 990 passionates the people.

In 990 class, Honda RC211V wins the poll while Ducati Desmo 990 take second position and the Yamaha M1 990 completing the top three on third place. But in 800 class, it seems the RC212V and M1 take a switch while Desmo 800 still take on second place. Perhaps the winning history take a part on reader’s decission. But beyond all criterias the Honda RC211V is the winner on this polling.

…will it be the most wanted ever GP Machine??…we don’t know yet..

The news came from MotoGP.com, saying that Paris Hilton will launch her GP125 Team this Saturday (December 18th) , which will compete in the 2011 125cc World Championship.

The team seems to be solid, with sporting and technical director of the team Ricard Jové and riders Sergio Gadea and Maverick Viñales. Beside that two highly experienced technical team will stand behind it, they are a combination of Christian Lundberg and Rossano Brazzi.

By having her team, Paris just like a successor of Antonio Banderas, who had a Moto2 team at 2010 season. Banderas him self decided to move back rather than continuing his partnership after it lack of sponsors to compete on 2011 Moto2 season.

Gardner point of view…about Rossi

Wayne Gardner, former GP500 world champion, talked about Rossi’s moves to Ducati and his performance on Valencia test. As we know, the 9 times world champion thrown out from top 10 standing for fastest lap. With this result, many people doubted Rossi’s chance to get in front again for 2011 triumph.

But Gardner him self tend to be a little “optimistic” though he understand it will take a little time for Rossi to win again. He added on his review that the earlier try on Ducati Desmosedici was a key point for the team to cut time to develop the bike. The real advantage is that they can prepared and fit the bike as Rossi wants as soon as possible. As we know, the testing time is short today, and perhaps this is the reason why Yamaha finally permits Rossi to try Ducati after the last race of 2010.

Another advantage is that Ducati have no worries about their superbike team anymore, so they can focuse on MotoGP for 2011 season. The complete review can be read below :

It seems almost everyone in the Italian media is already writing Valentino rossi off for 2011 following his Valencia Ducati debu earlier this month. The consensus seems to be that switch has already proven to be a failed gamble, and that next year will turn out to be a huge dissappointment. Believe me, this type of thinking is a big mistake. While a lot of people expected Rossi to be fast straight away, I’m not really surpeised he wasn’t. I’ve riden Ducati MotoGP machines in the past and know that they’re very strange bikes. They take time to get used to and require a completely different technique to ride fast. Would Rossi have been surprised how the bike felt when he finally threw his leg over? Possibly, though we probably won’t know his true thoughts for quite some time. Regardless, I think there’s a good chance Vale now has an even higher regard for Casey’s ability. But mark my words: Rossi and the team will make the necessary adjustment. Everyone tends to forget very quickly what he’s achieved and how good he is. People always tend to discard his chances too early, and the same is happening again now. Yes, 2011 will be a challenge. With less testing allowed these days, the pressure will be on the factory to get the new design right over the coming months. And while Vale may struggle a little in the first few races because of the lack of testing time, it will just be a matter of time before thins fall into place. The crucial part will centre around how quickly the factory can respond to any additional changes Rosi requests. I’m sure they’re prepared for this aspect of the assignment. Remember: they don’t have a superbike team to worry about anymore, so it’s not like they have anything better to do. What can’t be overlooked at this stage is just how valuable Rossi’s early release from Yamaha was. If he’d had to wait until next year to test the bike, 2011 would probably have shaped up as a bit of a disaster. By that late stage therewould have been no time for the teamto go away and design a new bike and Vale would have been forced to contend with whatever he found underneath him. As things stand now, there’s a good chance next year’s machine will accomodate most of the requirements Rossi would have identified. But the simple reality is that it will all take a bit of time to sort out.
